Lake Travis Schools
Students of the Lake Travis area will love attending schools within the highly-rated and award-winning Lake Austin Independent School District. There are five elementary campuses for the area, Bee Cave Elementary, Lake Pointe Elementary, Lake Travis Elementary, Lakeway Elementary, Serene Hills Elementary, and West Cypress Hills Elementary School. Middle schools within the Lake Austin ISD include Hudson Bend Middle School and Lake Travis Middle School. Lake Austin ISD is home to one high school and that’s Lake Travis High School.
Things to Do in Lake Travis
Zip through a canopy of old cypress trees when you schedule a Cypress Valley Canopy Tour. Take the family out for a day of educational fun at the Children’s Museum on Colorado Street. Spend the day in the sun and on the water at Volente Beach, Austin’s premiere water park and beach club on Lake Travis complete with a pirate boat and wading area for the younger ones. You can’t live in Texas without experiencing a horseback ride with Silver’s Trails, Colbert Ranch or Post Oaks Farms. There’s so much to pick and choose for a day of fun that you’ll wonder why it took you so long to move to Lake Travis in the first place.
Take a hike along the area trails, Grelle’s two-mile trail, Muleshoe’s 6.5 mile trail or the several hiking trails that make up Pace Bend. State Parks are also in the area for even more hiking. If you prefer the bike trails you are in luck with Muleshoe Bend Recreation Area and Pedernales Falls State Park nearby.
Of course, being on the water is the main reason you are looking to move to the Lake Travis area. Where Lake Travis is Located
Lake Travis is a fabulous location if you are looking to not only stay close to the lake but to the conveniences of the city as well. Bee Cave and Hill Country Galleria Mall are less than 15 minutes from Lake Travis with easy access to Highway71. Approximately 25 minutes from Lake Travis you’ll reach Highway 290 that takes you to Loop 1 and Interstate 35. The straight shot on Highway 290 to the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport will take you about 40 minutes in light traffic so give yourself plenty of time. Loop 1 heading north will take you to Downtown Austin in about 30 minutes and Round Rock in about 45 minutes using Ranch Road 620.
